TIPS to Navigate London

  • Masks are not compulsory, but still, it’s encouraged to wear a mask.
  • Purchasing a round-trip ticket not only benefits you but also ensures compliance with regulations, avoiding potential fines from authorities.
  • Your journey starts when you get through one ticket barrier, and then your journey may have one or two interchange stations. After that, it ends when you pass from the second ticket barrier to your destination. (There is no single ticket barrier on a journey on the London tube; it always has two barriers. At the passing of your second ticket barrier, your journey will end.)
  • The authorities of Transport for London maintain the whole system of London transport. Allows you to travel with contactless cards or Oyster cards, which helps you to travel effortlessly on every transport means. Like buses, underground, DLR London Trains, and so on by using the same card to recharge it.
  • Children and elderly over 60 people can travel free of cost on London transport. Under 16 have to pay or under 18, but as a student then you can also get a discount on your travel by London transport.
  • Visitors donโ€™t have to pay much, and if you have an English national concessionary bus pass, you can also use it, but only on London red buses.
  • The most amazing fact is you donโ€™t have to wait more than 5 mins for the London tubes in any daytime.
  • Ensure your payment method is readily accessible, particularly during peak hours, to avoid inconveniencing fellow travelers, which is highly disapproved by Locals.
  • Underground, there will be no signal, Wi-Fi so prepare your phone, download media, and set your apps to offline mode to not get confused.
  • Clear the area around doors to make space for others. And allow people to leave first before you enter.
  • Be willing to offer your seat to someone who needs it more. It shows how humble and kind you are.
  • The Tube can become warm, particularly during summer months, so it’s wise to consider bringing water if you’re going on longer journeys.
  • Don’t Hesitate to Ask for Help. Tube staff and police are available to assist if you’re stuck or lost.
