Hold onto your Oyster cards, folks! The London Overground just got a colorful makeover with fresh names like the Lioness Line (yellow, roaring with pride for the England women’s football team), Windrush Line (red, honoring the Caribbean community), and Suffragette Line (green, celebrating women’s rights). Trave just became a mini history lesson.

TIPS to Navigate London Underground

  • You don’t have to wear a mask, but hey, it’s never a bad idea to stay extra safe..
  • Purchasing a round-trip ticket not only benefits you but also ensures compliance with regulations, avoiding potential fines from authorities.
  • Your journey starts when you get through one ticket barrier, and then your journey may have one or two interchange stations. After that, it ends when you pass from the second ticket barrier to your destination. (There is no single ticket barrier on a journey on the London tube; it always has two barriers. At the passing of your second ticket barrier, your journey will end.)
  • Children and elderly over 60 people can travel free of cost on London transport. Under 16 have to pay or under 18, but as a student then you can also get a discount on your travel by London transport.
  • Visitors don’t have to pay much, and if you have an English national concessionary bus pass, you can also use it, but only on London red buses.
  • The most amazing fact is you don’t have to wait more than 5 mins for the London tubes in any daytime.
  • Ensure your payment method is readily accessible, particularly during peak hours, to avoid inconveniencing fellow travelers, which is highly disapproved by Locals.
  • Underground, there will be no signal, Wi-Fi so prepare your phone, download media, and set your apps to offline mode to not get confused.
  • Want to win the hearts of London locals? Keep the area near the train doors clear and let people off first. It’s practically an unwritten law!
  • Be willing to offer your seat to someone who needs it more. It shows how humble and kind you are.
  • The Tube can become warm, particularly during summer months, so it’s wise to consider bringing water if you’re going on longer journeys.
  • Don’t Hesitate to Ask for Help. Tube staff and police are available to assist if you’re stuck or lost.

Tube strike? No worries! London’s got you covered with buses, bikes, and even riverboats. It might even turn into a mini-adventure! London tube strike Update.

Where to buy tourist tickets online?

Tourists can order an online oyster card, and it will be delivered to their address. However, there are still many ticket shops on the Tube, most on London Overground, Elizabeth line stations, visitors centers, and Tramlink shops in Croydon.

There is a website https://www.tiqets.com/en/london-attractions-c67458/?partner=londontubemap from where you can buy not only tube tickets, but also monuments, attractions and tours and on this website, you can have 20% discount and no wait entrance at many places.
